As the holiday seasons approach, we see increased numbers of dogs and some cats getting into chocolate and maybe too much turkey gravy. Most of the time these products do not kill our pets, but can definitely make them very sick. Remember that Fido can even sniff out these little goodies from under the Christmas tree or take them from small children or counter tops. This is also a good time to remember there are many toxins pets can get into, sweet tasting antifreeze on the garage floor, household chemicals, and even plants such as lilies and poinsettias can be toxic. Please call us if your pet ingests something you think may be toxic. Like the old saying goes, “it is better to be safe than sorry” Here is a link to the ASPCA's website for a list of food items toxic to pets. Have a happy and safe holiday season!
